Our client is a NZ success story, developing Globally respected technology solutions for high profile International clients.

As a result of planned growth, they are looking to recruit a skilled senior embedded software engineer to assist them in meeting client project commitments.

The role will involve performing complex software engineering duties, including the full range of programming tasks such as problem analysis, solution determination, code design and development, integration, testing, modification and documentation.

Working within a positive team environment you will be expected to participate in software systems development from inception to completion, including customer interraction; assisting to prepare design specifications; developing circuit, component, subsystem and equipment interfaces; as well as procurement specifications.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally be degree qualified with a minimum of 5 years commercial experience developing low level software for various microcontrollers.

You will also be able to demonstrate skills in the development of real time embedded software solutions in C and Assembler for ARM, 8051 or similar processors, and an understanding of the design tradeoffs involved in microcontroller development. We seek experience developing low level software for various microcontrollers.

You will possess the ability to commence software development from datasheets and schematics prior to receiving hardware, and identify faults in hardware once it arrives.

Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP), RAD tools (C++, Delphi) and databases (SQL, Interbase) would be advantageous but is not essential.

On a personal level, you will be self managing, a great communicator and enjoy working in a team environment, with an ability to relate well to relate well to different personalities and Nationalities.

You will be motivated by keeping up with new technologies and their application; be well organised and self motivated; and enjoy a busy role working under project deadlines and schedules.

As this role is working extensively with International clients, there may be some requirement to travel (approximately 3-4 times per year).
